Mathematics

Math is all around us. That is why it is so important to have a solid foundation in the basic skills before entering higher levels of math. To begin the year, we will spend our time strengthening our skills in place value, basic addition and basic subtraction. We like to do math centers in second grade so that we are staying sharp on many skills at once. It sure is going to be nice having our new laptops in a center!!
